Yesterday was the inaugural Forward Role golf day at The Worsley Marriott.
In an event co-branded with Bolton firm Four Recruitment, 44 senior marketers and finance professionals from the region teamed up to raise money for Reuben's Retreat and compete for a range of prizes.
In blazing sunshine, the winners were a team featuring Forward Role's Brian Johnson and Jamie Allan, alongside Andy Bryan and James Lawton-Hill. Other winners included former Olympian Steve Parry who won the longest drive prize, with a 300 yard pile driver down the 18th, David Hales who won best individual score with 44 points and Matt Brown who finished 3 feet from the hole to win nearest the pin prize
With some golfers preferring to focus on the 'beer buggy', the day was as much about fun as competitive golf, with the added benefit of raising much needed money for Reuben's Retreat.
The charity is one which is close to both companies’ hearts and is currently developing a retreat in the North West countryside that will relieve the distress of families and their close friends who have suffered the bereavement of a child or have a child suffering from a life limiting or life threatening illness.
In under 2 years they have almost reached their first million pounds of donations and it was great to help them towards that milestone.
